The Triangle on the Grow

The 2010 census data shows that the Triangle Area experienced amazing growth during that decade just past. Raleigh added 127,000 new residents, a 46% increase, and several of the small towns of Wake County doubled in size. Even during these three recession years, our area has continued to grow, albeit more slowly.

Population growth fuels economic growth. The photo above is RDU’s newly renovated Terminal 2. Raleigh Durham International Airport is an important feature for our national and multi-national corporations. Population growth fuels cultural opportunities as well. For example, the success of Durham’s new Performing Arts Center depends directly on community support.

All indications are that our population growth is going to continue, too, which is good news for all of us who own homes here. Supply and demand always rule, and a steady stream of people relocating here means homes will hold their value.
