Every year the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors collects Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in our area. Called Project Angel Tree, the members of RRAR are encouraged to take an Angel (or more than one!). Each paper angel cut-out has written on it a child’s first name, gender, and what he or she wants for Christmas. Real estate companies collect gifts from their agents and deliver the wrapped packages to the RRAR building in Cary. This morning I was there to attend a Women’s Council of Realtors meeting, and we were asked to stay after the meeting and help load the gifts onto trucks. Many hands make light work — there were a LOT of gifts! The photo shows one side of the tree, but the bags extended just as far on the other side.
It’s wonderful to see so much participation from an industry that is arguably itself among the “less fortuante.” No, Christmas is not about gifts, but it is about giving.
GOD BLESS US EVERY ONE!
